[Itzel & Jorge, Circus Coaches]

A man, a woman, a couple. Two acrobats. Two words imprinted on their necks. Two different symbols, but one soul. His: "Psyrco",  psychedelic fusion with the circus, and her's "Sirkuksen" or belonging to the tribe of Circassians. They travelled from Mexico to Canada, the Great North, four years ago with no plan in mind. All they wanted was to pursue their passion for the circus and reinvigorate their careers. Mexicains de naissance ils viennent s'installer au Canada il y a quatre ans. Leur passion les a mené jusqu'au Grand Nord, pas de plan en tête, juste l'envie de se perfectionner et donner un souffle nouveau à leur carrière. WE'RE NOT THE LOST GENERATION!

Its time to break the rules, change the way we think and create; we need to move forward. When I heard that the French government was once again trying to protect the "exceptional French culture", from its enemies, who in the form of Netflix et al, are coming and will engulf everything in their path, I just laughed. I laugh at them because the only thing that a great former chief of a TV network could come up with, is that a new tax be levied on laptops, smartphones and tablet. But what is the point such a tax? If you want to protect this "exceptional culture", push and encourage people to create, don't make them pay. Yes, it's true that the decision makers don’t want to lose control and in fact they don't care about creativity, they are merely trying to maintain their ROI. They'll do everything they can to slow down something that is bound happen, because change is inevitable and our political masters are well aware that they are not holding the reins anymore. We know that this money will never reach the artists and creators. Furthermore, if money was the only thing needed to be creative, then we would be bombarded by masterpieces all around us! Read More

NOUS NE SOMMES PAS UNE GENERATION PERDUE !

Il est temps de casser les codes, de changer la façon de voir, de créer, d'avancer. Quand j'entends que le gouvernement français cherche encore une fois à protéger l'exception culturelle française, parce que les grands méchants, tel que Netflix, vont tout phagocyter sur leur passage, je ris. Ris de voir que la solution proposée par un ancien grand Monsieur de la TV est de taxer les "nouveaux" moyens diffusions, entendez les portables et autres tablettes. Mais, ce n'est pas en taxant après coup que l'on protègera la création, mais en poussant les gens à créer. Oui, c'est vrai, les personnes qui ont le pouvoir ne veulent pas perdre le contrôle, alors leur seul moyen c'est de contrôler encore plus. La création, ils n'en ont rien à foutre au fond, ils essaient simplement de trouver une solution pour maintenir leur retour sur investissement. Ils font tout pour ralentir un changement inévitable, parce qu'ils sont bien conscients que les commandes leurs filent entre les doigts. Nous savons bien que cet argent n'ira jamais dans les poches des personnes qui créent, et de toute façon, si l'argent était la seule solution pour créer, cela ferait bien longtemps que les chefs d'oeuvres s'empileraient ! La suite

[Meka] Illustrator

When I was a kid, I said: “I want to be a designer when I grow up”. These are the first words I heard when I met Meka, an illustrator based in Montreal (QC, Canada). He grew up in France, immersed in the skate and punk culture and the cartoons of the 80’s.
